mmdfalias(ADM)
mmdfalias --
convert XENIX-style aliases file to MMDF format
Syntax
/usr/mmdf/table/tools/mmdfalias
Description
mmdfalias is a conversion utility to produce
MMDF-compatible alias files from the XENIX-format aliases file.
mmdfalias also splits the converted contents of
/usr/lib/mail/aliases into two MMDF
files containing mailing list aliases and
aliases that map user names to the machines on which they receive mail.
Place the following line in the file
/usr/lib/mail/aliases
to indicate where the mailing list aliases end and
the user-to-machine mapping aliases begin:
# user to machine mapping
Log in as mmdf and run the
/usr/mmdf/table/tools/mmdfalias
conversion script from the /usr/mmdf/table directory.
You now have two MMDF files, alias.list
and alias.user, in the current directory.
After creating these files in /usr/mmdf/table,
you must rebuild the MMDF hashed database.
While logged in as mmdf, run dbmbuild
from /usr/mmdf/table.
Files
/usr/lib/mail/aliases
/usr/mmdf/table/alias.list
/usr/mmdf/table/alias.user
