About component scripts

``Component scripts'' are scripts which function as an API between custom(ADM) and the component; custom runs these scripts during installation of the component.

The custom utility recognizes two types of component scripts:

• component control scripts (ccs)

• component query scripts (cqs)

As the component developer, use these component scripts to:

• control each phase of the installation

• control the removal process

• create product upgrades

• prompt the user for information

• use input from user

The syntax for the ccs is:

ccs step [keyword_list] package_list

The syntax for the cqs is:

cqs [keyword_list] package_list
